I recently bought this sweater from Marshall’s just to wear with jeans. Then I looked through my closet and saw these pants I had bought over the summer at New York & Company. I think they work really well with the sweater and I love the zipper detail on them. Too many times I will wear my clothes in just one season but many of them will work all during the year. To stretch my wardrobe, I am trying to come up with different combinations with a lot of pieces that I already have. To add some color I added this red wool coat a friend gave me. I think the combination makes a cute winter outfit. For a little sparkle I added a silver and pearl necklace. To finish it off, I wore black high heeled booties. It’s an outfit I can wear out to dinner or meeting with clients.
Winter hit big time this past Friday in Atlanta. More snow than I have ever seen here. It was beautiful, but one day is enough for me and then I’m over it. By Sunday the roads were pretty clear so we met some friends for dinner at Muss & Turners in Smyrna. Since it was still so cold I pulled out my faux fur vest and wore it with a gray turtleneck sweater. I love the black and gray colors of the vest and the back is a sweater. It was perfect for such a wintry day!
I chose this wine colored necklace with silver accents to wear with the gray sweater. Even though I don’t like winter, I do like winter clothes. Layering provides so many more options. I always found layering difficult but now love coming up with many variations of outfits!
These are my favorite pair of distressed jeans that I wear quite often. And the
black suede booties are Vince Camuto.
Muss & Turners was nice and cozy and we all had a great time celebrating birthdays!

It’s that time of the year again to start shopping for gifts. I’ve put together some gifts for the women in your life. Also, a lot of these would make great hostess gifts when going to friends or relatives homes for dinner. Or maybe you are going to stay with someone over the holidays and need something special to gift them.
There are also some wine glasses for the wine lovers on your list. The Flocking Ridiculous glasses are so much fun!
Journals are a good gift, I know I always look for the cutest ones, where even the cover inspires me.

Candles are always a great gift so I’ve included some with scents that are a little different. I pretty much love anything sea salt scented, so this Henri Bendel candle takes me back to my favorite place, the beach.
And for your fashionistas I’ve picked some cute scarves and gloves. Cashmere gloves are a great choice at $49. The leopard print gloves are another great pick. Leopard always elevates style in an outfit and these are just enough without being too much. Velvet is such a popular trend and these red ones are so festive for the holidays.
These trays are in my guest rooms and my bedroom on the nightstands for holding jewelry. I love to have them for my guests because I always tend to misplace my jewelry when traveling. The Hey Friend would make a fun gift.

A couple of my friends and I decided we needed a little girl time and headed to The Battery in Atlanta last week. It was a beautiful day so we had lunch and then walked around some.
It was a nice break and great to spend some time with friends before all the busyness of the holidays begins. I love my houndstooth leggings and wanted something more than just black to wear with them so I added the denim jacket.
Black Patent Booties
Black patent booties finished the look. I snagged these on sale at TJ Maxx at the beginning of the season. I absolutely look them and plan to wear them with many different looks.

This year for my Thanksgiving tablescape I decided to use vibrant fall colors. In years past I’ve done more monochromatic but like to switch it up from year to year. I chose yellows, orange, peach and natural wood elements in my floral arrangements.
My Favorite Holiday Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday and I absolutely love decorating for it. Most of my family comes for dinner and it is so nice to have everyone together. My brother lives in Florida so I don’t get to see him often. My mom now divides her time between mine and my sister’s house. It’s really bittersweet because my father and father in law died a few years back and we miss them so much. Change is the one constant but sometimes it is so hard to accept. I just cherish the time I do get to spend with my loved ones now and always get a little depressed when everyone leaves.
I love green flowers so had to add them to the arrangement. Hydrangeas are another favorite, but I don’t use them too often because they don’t seem to last very long. To add a little more depth I added the beautiful burgundy flowers.
Orange and green drip less candles add to the festive feel. I purchased them last year marked down at Target.
Traditional colors dominate the center basket with yellows, oranges and browns. My father loved birds so I always like to add that element and love the natural fabrics.
This arrangement I did for my powder room with the peach rose that stands out.
I’m loving all of the colors of fall and there were so many pretty colors at an open house I recently went to. It was at Scottsdale Farms in Milton, GA. My sister works there so my mom and I visited for the afternoon. The weather was a bit dreary with light rain and cool. But inside was so nice and inviting with all of the Christmas decorations. A fall leopard print sweater and black leggings was the perfect thing to wear to keep warm, along with a glass of wine:)
Black Quilted Boots.
I had bought these quilted boots a while back that are perfect for a rainy day and I just added a Calvin Klein scarf to keep warm.
They had the prettiest plant arrangements. I love how colorful they are, especially in fall and winter when things get so dreary.
Pansies have some of the most beautiful colors and I love the way they blend.
These are the adorable goats they have for the children to feed. They also have pigs and cows and certain at certain times of the year bring in other animals for a petting zoo.
My husband and I met his daughter and fiance at Monday Night Brewing in Atlanta a couple of weeks ago. They are looking at their event room for their wedding ceremony and reception. I was a little apprehensive when she told me about it but when I saw it, I got it. She wants a fun and laid back ceremony and this place is perfect for that.
Tie One On!
I wanted something fun and casual to wear so I chose my army green vest with white pants. I purchased the pants from New York & Co last year. They are so versatile and I wear them all year long.
I love this wall with Tie One On.
The graphic tee has some gold trim on it which I love.
I kept the look casual with a pair of gray sneakers.
Last Friday my husband and I met friends at a local brewery so I wanted something fun to wear. I had stopped by Target earlier in the day and saw this cute navy short jumpsuit on sale. Even though it is not something I would usually buy, I wanted something different. It was another warm October evening so this was perfect opportunity to wear it. We are so lucky to live in an area where we can easily get to three little town squares that are full of shops and restaurants.
Suede camel wedges
Last Friday was the last concert on the square in Marietta. It was such a pretty evening with great music and great friends. So I am wearing the last of my late summer outfits and transitioning to fall. I bought these Aztec print shorts and red off the shoulder top at New York & Company last year. I love the off the shoulder tops but do find it hard to keep them in place. I used fashion tape which does help.
Black tassel low heel shoes
I’m still loving tassels so when I saw these Anne Klein shoes at Marshalls, I had to have them. I also like the low heel which makes them great for a lot of different outfits and looks. I got the necklace on clearance at Charming Charlie.
This past weekend, my husband, my mom and I went to Ponce City Market in Atlanta. It is such a fun place with fantastic views of Atlanta from the rooftop. It is full of shops and restaurants and just a great place to walk, eat, shop and people watch. I wore this little black patterned cold shoulder dress with tan perforated booties. The day was absolutely beautiful and very warm for this time of the year. I love summer and hate for it to end, but I do like fall and fall clothes. Winter, I can do without!!
Beautiful Sunny Day
Orange Clutch, Tan Booties
The accessories I chose were these tan Esprit perforated booties I got from TJ Maxx on clearance. In addition I carried this cute little orange suede clutch with jewel closure and gold chain. To top it off, I wore gold earrings to match the clutch.
